The ACCEPT CE MARKING Platform aims to stimulate and support manufacturers on the CE marking of construction products. The Platform consists of a functioning database with information regarding the CE marking from multiple sources.

The platform has two main functionalities: Placing on the Market and Buy from the Market.

Placing on the Market is the functionality aimed to provide clarification on the different stages of the CE marking.

Buy from the Market allows for manufacturers that already have the CE marking to provide information on the CE marked building products.

This platform was developed by Itecons through the project POCI-02-0853-FEDER-016190, approved in the scope of the System for Supporting Collective Actions – Qualification and co-financed by FEDER under the COMPETE 2020.

Itecons is a Research, Development and Technology Transfer Institute, created as a private non-profit association, integrating over 50 entities linked to the industry, counties and other institutions of the national scientific and technological system. In spite of its strong connection with the University of Coimbra and the Central region of Portugal, Itecons is a national wide reaching institute, as demonstrated by its associates.

Itecons’ mission is to establish a direct and swift collaboration between the University of Coimbra and the Society, the manufacturers and other institutions of the Construction and Energy and Environment sectors. Taking this into account, Itecons aims to:

  • promote research in innovative areas, stimulating the transfer of knowledge and technologies between the University, Industry and Society;
  • support the manufacturing sector and local and central administration organisations on providing specialised services, namely by conducting tests and providing technical expertise;
  • carry out national and international training events, seminars, conferences, technical exhibits and workshops, that contribute to the development of the work areas of the Institute.

As a Notified Body and a Technical Assessment Body, Itecons deploys its Technical Assessment Unit, supporting manufacturers of construction products to place their products in the European market.
