Project the Central Region of Portugal as a national reference in the creation of new products and services resulting from R&D activities.

SCOPE

The Central Region of Portugal, namely the area covered by the Inov C Innovation Ecosystem, is, in economic terms, active and dynamic. This region has a renewed business structure, with new or newly established companies that have invested in cutting-edge technology. In addition, there is a healthy academic and business environment in which good practices are created and replicated. Inov C promotes many initiatives, namely actions to encourage Entrepreneurship and Innovation, grants and scientific research projects, support structures for the creation and development of companies, boosting the economic and social sustainability of the Region.

MAIN GOALS

The main strategic objectives outlined for the INOV C 2020 project are:

• Accelerate the change of attitudes, values and more entrepreneurial and open behaviors, with collaboration in innovation projects, use of new ideas and technologies, taking risks and combating the stigma of failure;
• Empowering academic communities to create innovative projects with a view to transferring knowledge to the business structure;
• Support the creation of technology-based companies supported on R&D results;
• Promoting an increase in the technological intensity of the region's business structure, reinforcing its connection to the NSCTN.

ATIVIDADES DO PROJETO

• Raising the academic and business community's awareness of entrepreneurship and innovation;
• Identification of technologies with commercial potential and survey of the technological needs of companies in the region that can be supplied by the partners' research centers;
• Valuing and commercializing innovative ideas and R&D results.
